This is the 10th year for Music Stroll! Free, Family-friendly Music Stroll in Sugarhouse, June 8, 2024 - Heart & Soul Brings Over 40 Bands to Neighborhood Porches. For the tenth year, Heart & Soul, along with the neighbors surrounding the Imperial Park, will present our incredible, free, one-day music festival.
In the fall we’ll put on a big anniversary event, and we’ll keep you posted about that. (Will there be cake?) Before that, we’re looking forward to the HEART & SOUL MUSIC STROLL on Saturday, June 8, and there’s information below about how you can be involved.

Dear Heart &Soul,
My name is Phil Hansen and I work at Pine Creek Nursing and Rehab (formerly Westside). I have been here for 15 years. During many of those years Heart & Soul have come to entertain my residents and staff. I thought I was having them come to help give some entertainment, and a break during the day. I was wrong. They have been very entertaining! They have given a break from the normal day. My residents love listening to the music. BUT that is a very very small piece of what all of the performers have done. Let me explain.
Maybe you’re not a musician. Maybe you don’t have time to serve on a board of directors. Maybe you don’t have family in a care facility. But, just as people in big cities know the value of wilderness, and just as people without animal companions know the value of having a pet, every human spirit knows the healing power of live music.
Heart & Soul was started in 1994 when siblings, Doug Jenson and Janna Lauer saw the isolation and loneliness their mother suffered upon entering a rehabilitation facility due to a broken hip complicated with dementia. Their mother had been the musical center of their family - and they knew that music was the language that helps to transcend loneliness and that brings us all together.
Theatre created by, for, and about seniors, performed at care communities in Davis County in this co-production with Plan-B Theater and the Davis Arts Council, in partnership with Heart & Soul.

40 musical acts will perform on 13 porches, driveways, and lawns—or on our main stage—throughout this Sugar House neighborhood (along with an ocean of food trucks). Join us as Heart & Soul celebrates 29 years of bringing the healing power of music to isolated neighbors along the Wasatch Front.
